Academic Advising
Although every MTSU student is assigned a faculty advisor, your first stop for basic questions about scheduling classes, filling out forms and other routine matters should be with the professional advisors in CBAS. Your Chemistry faculty advisor is a professor and research scientist who is always happy to advise you on substantive matters related to your curriculum, career goals, plans for graduate school, or other issues of strategic or philosophical importance.
Some degree planning should be done in advance of your first visit to your advisor. The upper division form (UDF), which lists all the courses that a student has taken, will take, or is taking for his/her degree, should be filled out during the sophomore year at the latest.
Advising Hints
- Plan your degree from the beginning
- See your advisor early and often
- Pay attention to registration deadlines
