CRUX REU Location Information

     Murfreesboro is located about 35 miles south of Nashville, TN with plenty of nearby urban and natural areas to explore. MTSU is the largest university in the mid-state region, serving 22,000 students.  Some of the features of the campus are the living areas, dining halls, recreation center.

     The location of the REU is the state-of-the-art (SCI, 2014) and renovated (DSB, 2016) buildings with labs and spaces, including a new (2017) Single Crystal X-ray Diffractometer a Powder X-ray Diffractometer, and also an X-ray Fluorescence spectrometer. The chemistry faculty regularly include undergraduate students in their research programs, and we recently hired an X-ray crystallographer to collect and help to interpret data.
